Associate Lecturer in Translation Studies at the University of York and The Open University (OU).

Before joining York and the OU, I worked as Associate Lecturer and Interim Programme Director of the MA in Translation at Goldsmiths, University of London, and as Lecturer in Translation Studies at the University of Manchester. At York, I coordinate the new MA in Interpreting, Translation and Applied Technologies.

My research interests lie in volunteer translation practices, the use and deployment of new translation technologies, and corpus-based translation studies. My research has primarily focused on ascertaining the impact of translation guidelines and tools on the practices of Wikipedia translators. I am currently involved in corpus annotation activities at the Oslo-based Centre for Sustainable Healthcare Education (SHE), having previously helped compile the Internet English Corpus for the UK AHRC-funded project Genealogies of Knowledge.
